HISTORICAL DANCE MASTERCLASS SERIES 2023

Cheng Ballet Academy was proud to welcome Dr Lee Chiao, a Professor from National Taiwan University of Arts and an expert in the historical perspective of classical ballet and character dance to conduct a series of historical dance masterclasses from the 20th June to 2nd July 2023.
Character dance is a specific subdivision of classical ballet. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance, mostly from European countries, and uses movements and music which have been adapted for the theater.
In classical Ballets productions, Character Dance is usually used to depict large scenes of gatherings, royal parties or festivals - think Coppelia and Swan Lake!
We wish to sincerely thank Dr Lee Chiao for spending her time with us at Cheng Ballet Academy and sharing her deep knowledge of the Russian style character dance training!
